The Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) is a model of supports designed to ensure that children with additional needs can access the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Programme. The goal of AIM is to empower Early Learning and Care (ELC) providers to deliver an inclusive preschool experience, ensuring that every eligible child can meaningfully participate in the ECCE Programme and reap the benefits of high-quality early learning and care through universal and targeted supports.
The Access and Inclusion Model (AIM) Level 7 application process is currently being redesigned to simplify processes, reduce administrative burdens, and streamline the application journey.
AIM Level 7 application’s will now be part of the AIM level 4 application form, and service providers are encouraged to continue submitting AIM Level 4 applications in collaboration with the child’s parents/legal guardians/carers. AIM Support workers can be reassured that AIM Level 7 supports will continue to be available, and the current redesign process relates to the Level 7 application process only.
The role of the Early Years Specialist continues to involve working in partnership with the service provider, parents/legal guardians/carers and other professionals to develop an inclusive learning environment that supports a child in the Early Learning and Care setting.
