Ceisteanna (2201, 2203)

Pádraig O'Sullivan

Ceist:

2201. Deputy Pádraig O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Health if she is aware that glycerol-containing slush ice drinks are being sold without point-of-sale warnings at retail locations across Ireland, contrary to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland advice of 26 May 2026, which recommends that retailers selling unpackaged slush ice drinks containing glycerol display permanent warnings stating that the product is not recommended for children aged ten and under; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Freagraí scríofa

I propose to take Questions Nos. 2201 and 2203 together.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has overall responsibility for the enforcement of food law in Ireland; therefore, as these are operational matters, I have asked the FSAI to reply directly to the Deputy.
