70. Deputy Sean Fleming asked the Minister for Social Protection the number that received the carer’s support grant in 2026; the way in which this compares to 2020; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [46034/26]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Carer's Support Grant is an annual payment of €2,000 provided to full-time carers in Ireland. It is paid automatically to recipients of Carer's Allowance, Carer's Benefit, and Domiciliary Care Allowance. It can also be paid to certain other carers providing full-time care.
In 2026, the number of recipients of the Carer's Support Grant was 146,428, compared with 117,269 recipients in 2020.
