The Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) is a private company limited by guarantee which receives a grant-in-aid from the Exchequer through my Department's Vote. The funding is to enable the ESRI to meet its requirements in economic and social research that informs public policy and civil society. The goal for all ESRI research is to produce results leading to policy recommendations.

In 2026, the amount committed to the ESRI is €3,900,000. This information is publicly available through the Revised Estimates Volume 2026, which lists each Vote and the amount allocated to each subhead. The ESRI funding is Subhead A4 in my Department's Vote (Vote 11).
