95. Deputy Carol Nolan asked the Taoiseach further to his Parliamentary Question No. 191 of 9 June 2026, to confirm the fact that the international protection status of individuals who commit crime is not recorded means that neither the CSO nor the Government have any awareness or means of ascertaining whether international protection applicants are committing criminal offences to a greater or lesser degree than the wider population. The quarterly PULSE extract that the CSO receives from An Garda Siochana, and which is the basis for the CSO quarterly recorded crime statistics, does not include the international protection status of suspected offenders.

The Garda Commissioner is operationally responsible for Garda PULSE data.
