Under the Sustainable Energy Act 2002, the staffing level of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) is subject to sanction from me as Minister as well as the Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation.

In respect of 2026, the SEAI has a budget of €22.05m toward Pay and Pension related costs and an agreed staffing level of 265 FTE. The recruitment and allocation of staff is a matter for the SEAI.

Arrangements have been put in place by the SEAI to facilitate the provision of information directly to members of the Oireachtas. In this regard, they can be contacted directly through the dedicated email address: oireachtas@seai.ie.
