80. Deputy Richard Boyd Barrett asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade when she plans to issue a response to correspondence from persons (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [50272/26]
Amharc ar fhreagraI would like to acknowledge firstly that these past months have been very difficult for the citizen in question and for their family and circle of friends. My Department continues to provide consular assistance in this case, as it has since it was first notified of it in September 2025.
Staff in the Consulate General in Munich are in ongoing and direct contact with the citizen in question and with their family, including with the person referred to by the Deputy. Officials from the Consulate visited the citizen this week, the sixth such visit since September 2025.
My office has previously replied to correspondence from the family of the citizen. A reply issued to a family member most recently on 18 May and before that on 29 April. A further reply will issue shortly.
