I propose to take Questions Nos. 161, 162 and 166 together.

The Mobility Hubs Pilot Programme is being developed to test the delivery and operation of shared mobility hub networks across a diverse range of urban settlements. Working with shared mobility providers, the Programme will help to develop, promote and inform the future national operational model for mobility hubs. The five candidate locations identified for the Programme are Cork City, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, and the towns of Carlow, Dundalk and Sligo. It is anticipated that approximately 300 mobility hubs will be constructed across these locations.

I am pleased to advise the Deputy that the Detailed Business Case for the Programme was submitted to the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment in April 2026 and is currently under consideration. Subject to approval of a Final Business Case, rollout of the hubs is expected to commence in late 2026, with all services anticipated to be operational by Q2 2027 subject to the approval of support – circa €40 million - from the Climate Action Fund.

As the Programme has not yet entered the delivery phase, no capital or operational funding has been drawn down from the Climate Action Fund to date. The National Transport Authority (NTA), which is leading the development of the Programme, has incurred expenditure associated with project development and business case preparation. Any such expenditure has been met from existing NTA resources, as such, the NTA is best placed to provide a detailed breakdown of expenditure incurred to date in developing the Programme. Accordingly, I have referred your question to the NTA for a more detailed reply. If you do not receive a reply within 10 working days, please contact my private office.

The referred reply was forwarded to the Deputy under Standing Orders.
Question No. 162 answered with Question No. 161.
