The Department of Education and Youth does not operate a fixed or standardised timeframe for the assessment of Stage 2B Detailed Design submissions. The duration of the review varies from project to project and is influenced by the scale, complexity, and technical requirements of each individual school building project.

Stage 2B involves the completion of detailed design, the securing of all necessary statutory approvals, and the preparation of full tender documentation. In line with the Infrastructure Guidelines, submissions undergo a comprehensive technical and cost review to ensure compliance with procurement, design, and budgetary requirements.

In some cases, additional information, clarifications, or amendments may be required from the Design Team to ensure that all elements of the submission are complete and accurate. This process is essential to safeguarding project scope, cost control, and value for money within the overall school building programme.

For these reasons, the length of time required to complete a Stage 2B review can vary significantly depending on the nature of the project and the completeness of the documentation submitted.
