362. Deputy Sean Fleming asked the Minister for Education and Youth the up-to-date position regarding funding for the completion of a school (details supplied); and if she will make a statement on the matter. [51247/26]
Amharc ar fhreagraThe Deputy will be aware that the construction of the school in question is being progressed directly by the school. The project is being funded under the Immigration Investor Programme (IIP) introduced by the Irish Government in 2012. This development was initiated by the school and is being progressed independently by the school in conjunction with the Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration who have oversight of the IIP Programme. The Department of Education and Youth has not had any involvement with the project. The Department understands that it is the school's intention to recommence works on site shortly.
The Department recently met school representatives who undertook to provide further details of the project to the Department.
