The school to which the Deputy refers was approved to enter my departments pipeline of school building projects under the Additional Schools Accommodation (ASA) scheme to provide eight mainstream classrooms, a two classroom special educational needs (SEN) base and ancillary.

This project is currently at stage 2a (developed design). The stage 2a report was submitted by the school authority in May 2026 and is currently under review. In line with my Department’s Infrastructure Guidelines, all projects are subject to the necessary technical and cost assessment as part of this process. Given the complexity of the evaluation and the need to ensure full cost compliance and alignment with the National Development Plan, this review is necessarily thorough.

While it is not possible to provide indicative timelines for advancement to further stages, the project remains under active review and will be progressed when the wider implementation framework permits. Progression to the next phase is contingent on the outcome of the review and the project’s alignment with the prioritisation framework under the National Development Plan.
