Deputy Pádraig Rice asked the Minister for Health to confirm the exact date at which she and the Minister of State for Older People were presented with a copy of a review (details supplied) into the effectiveness of Ireland's nursing home regulatory and inspection framework; and if she will make a statement on the matter. This report was received by the Minister for Health, and I on the 9th of June 2026.

On 2nd July 2026, the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) published the independent review of its nursing home regulatory inspection and monitoring processes, undertaken by Forvis Mazars, and this is publicly available to view on the HIQA website.
