Deputy Peadar Tóibín asked the Minister for Defence the financial, technological, industrial, research, training, procurement or other commitments that would be required from Ireland under the proposed Ukrainian drone deal; what Ireland has been asked to provide in return for participation; whether any commitments have been given by the Government; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Amharc ar fhreagraAs the Deputy will be aware, I attended a meeting between the Taoiseach and the Ukrainian President in Dublin Castle during the opening ceremony of the EU Presidency on 1st July 2026. The meeting covered a broad range of topics of mutual interest to both countries, including a brief high-level discussion on potential opportunities for cooperation in the area of drone technology. Specific information on the details of the Ukrainian proposal were not discussed during this meeting.
