I propose to take Questions Nos. 984, 979 and 980 together.
I propose answering questions 55593/26, 55594/26 and 55598/26 together.
Foreign Direct Investment is a key element of Ireland's economic strategy, with investments by IDA Ireland client companies consistently generating highly skilled jobs nationwide. Employment and economic impact of IDA clients on Irish economy and society remains at record levels. IDA client employment increased by 1.5% to 312,400 in 2025, which holds the share of total national employment in IDA client companies at 11%. Additionally, my Department estimates that for every ten jobs generated by FDI directly, another eight are created in the wider economy.
The Dublin region was home to 1,018 client companies employing 142,501 people at the end of 2025. The region has repeatedly attracted significant investment across all sectors and activities with prominent investment in ICT, International Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals and Global Business Services. FDI in Dublin also has a high concentration of R&D investment particularly in the Tech sector.
IDA Ireland continues to collaborate closely with national and local stakeholders to foster the conditions necessary for enterprise, innovation, and job creation in the Dublin region.
I would note that the IDA reports employment numbers at county level only, and in response to the Deputy’s requests, the number of IDA-supported jobs in Dublin, in each of the last 10 years is set out below.
