The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (IHREC) is an independent public body that accounts to the Oireachtas, with a mandate established under the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission Act 2014. As the responsible Minister in relation to IHREC, I am responsible for securing IHREC's budget. However, IHREC is funded through a separate Vote of the Oireachtas (Vote 25) and the Director of IHREC is the Accounting Officer for its Vote.
