I propose to take Questions Nos. 545 and 546 together.

The Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration has developed proposals in this regard following consultation with An Garda Siochana. My Department are in discussions on the appropriate legislative changes required to implement these proposals, where they may impact on transport related legislation. Any proposals will be subject to legal advice, which is currently being sought by both Departments.

I will continue to work closely with the Minister for Justice to ensure these measures are implemented quickly.

Question No. 546 answered with Question No. 545.
