34. Deputy Pádraig O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment to list the number of sites held by the IDA in Cork County; the number of protected structures, monuments or historically protected buildings on each of these sites; and the measures taken by the IDA to ensure that these sites are preserved. IDA Ireland owns land or manages property interests at approximately 24 locations across Cork city and county, as outlined in the table below.

Based on a desktop review, 35 heritage and archaeological records were identified across 5 of these locations.  This assessment is based on publicly available mapping and townland references.  It should be noted that they have not been reconciled against current property ownership boundaries, land extents, title records or GIS mapping.  Any definitive assessment would require site-specific verification.

Where protected structures, recorded monuments or archaeological features are located on IDA-owned or managed lands, IDA Ireland manages them in accordance with applicable planning, archaeological and heritage requirements. Proposed works or development are subject to the relevant statutory consent processes and, where required, archaeological or heritage assessment, monitoring and mitigation measures are undertaken to protect identified features.
