I wish to advise the Deputy that there has been significant works carried out in St. Patrick's School, Celbridge, Co. Kildare since January 2026.

Measures undertaken include clearance and remediation of gutters and drainage, internal remediation works to floors including underfloor water leak from the heating system, fire doors, water-damaged areas and new vinyl flooring. All mould issues have been dealt with appropriately and removed. Replacement and remediation of internal doors on both floors have been completed. Five external doors including the main entrance door has been replaced. The heating system has also been upgraded and includes a boiler replacement and all new pipe work. The roof leaks and the water tank enclosures have also been remediated.

The school has previously been advised of the importance of having a good maintenance regime in place given that the gutters and drains were severely blocked. Now that the remediation works have been completed, it is imperative that the maintenance is upheld.

Remediation costs to date are in the region of €980,000.
