Ceisteanna (619)

Ryan O'Meara

Ceist:

619. Deputy Ryan O'Meara asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the reason unsuccessful applicants under the fuel income support scheme are not currently being notified that their applications were unsuccessful; and if these applicants will be notified at a later date. [68692/26]

The vast majority of payments under the Fuel Income Support Scheme have now been issued, however there are a small number of cases where processing of applications is ongoing.  Typically these are cases where the applicant has been asked for some documentation to show they are carrying out agricultural activity or contracting. At this point, resources are prioritised to ensure payment of eligible applicants and resolving query cases can proceed as quickly as possible.

A batch notification to all unsuccessful applicants will issue as soon as practical after finalisation of query cases. If an applicant has any outstanding documentation/query requests, I would ask that they supply these as soon as possible so that their application can be processed. My Department is ready to assist those with queries on their application through the dedicated email address fuelsub@agriculture.gov.ie.
