Aidan Farrelly

Ceist:

455. Deputy Aidan Farrelly asked the Minister for Justice, Home Affairs and Migration the number of and summary of disclosures made to him under Section 41 of the Garda Síochána Act 2005 to date in 2026. [70425/26]

The Garda Síochána Act 2005 was repealed on commencement of the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024 in April, 2025. Section 41 ceased to be the applicable process on commencement of the PSCS Act. Section 36 of the PSCS Act is the relevant provision in place.

I can confirm that, from January to 1 October this year, five referrals under Section 36 have been received in my Department. Due to the nature of the referrals, including that they may involve national security matters, I am unable to provide a summary.
