Ceisteanna (754)

Peadar Tóibín

Ceist:

754. Deputy Peadar Tóibín asked the Minister for Justice to outline the total funding provided by an investor(s) through the IIP scheme for a school (details supplied); the nationality of the investor(s) if they were granted visas; what support her Department has offered the school to ensure its completion; and what shortfall in funding currently exists. At the outset, it is important to note that, as Minister, I do not comment on individual Immigrant Investor Programme (IIP) applications.

The 'applicant' in the IIP process is the investor and not the project owner. The State has no responsibility for the performance of an investment under the Programme; these are a private matter between the investor and the project owner. It is a matter for the project owner to ensure delivery on an approved project within the timeframe set out in its own business plan.

My Department will however continue to engage with and monitor all projects going forward for delivery, specifically for compliance with the IIP requirements.

If the project owner has any queries they should contact the IIP Unit directly.
