Deputy Malcolm Byrne asked the Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation the total number of civil servants employed across all Government Departments, by grade, for each of the years 2015 to 2024 inclusive, in tabular form.; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The table includes prison staff, of which there were 3,542 in quarter 4 of 2024, as they are included within the overall category of civil servants. These staff are included in the relevant grades below.
