541. Deputy Cormac Devlin asked the Minister for Social Protection if his attention has been drawn to the case of a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter. [69200/25]
Amharc ar fhreagraI am advised by the Social Welfare Appeals Office that an Appeals Officer, having fully considered all of the available evidence, has decided to disallow the appeal of the person concerned by way of a summary decision.
According to the supporting evidence provided, the appellant was out of the State during the backdating period, and therefore was not entitled to Jobseeker's Pay Related Benefit for that period. His application was awarded from the date he returned to the state. The original application was processed from the earlier date in order to establish his entitlement to the appropriate rate of Pay Related Benefit.
The person concerned will be notified of the Appeals Officer’s decision in the coming days.
