I propose to take Questions Nos. 590 and 591 together.

The Governments new housing action plan, Delivering Homes, Building Communities 2025 – 2030, reinforces and expands the range of existing measures being implemented to tackle the issues of supply and affordability. The new action plan supports and extends the various affordable housing schemes now being delivered by a range of delivery partners, and will drive delivery beyond the16,900 affordable housing supports that have already been delivered since the launch of Housing for All, including over 2,300 in Cork.

Both Cork City and Cork County Councils have established a significant pipeline of affordable housing delivery in the Cork area and continue to work proactively with all delivery partners. Building on this progress, my Department will continue to engage with all delivery partners, including Cork City and Cork County Councils, to further the development of the affordable housing delivery pipeline, to meet affordable housing needs in the Cork area.

My Department publishes programme-level statistics on affordable housing delivery activity by local authorities and delivery partners in each local authority area. Data for the years 2022 up to Q2 2025 is published on the statistics page of my Department’s website at the following link: https://www.gov.ie/en/department-of-housing-local-government-and-heritage/collections/overall-social-and-affordable-housing-provision/
