Deputy Maeve O'Connell asked the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport if data is available on the number of postal items delivered over the Christmas period by An Post; to provide said data; and if data is kept regarding the number of postal items that were delivered late over the same period, and to provide said data. Amharc ar fhreagraAn Post is a commercial State body under the aegis of my Department, with a mandate to act commercially. An Post has statutory responsibility for the State's postal service and the post office network. Operational matters relating to the network, including matters relating to postal volume data are for the Board and management of the company directly and not one in which I, as Minister, have any function.
