Freagraí scríofa

The Office of Public Works (OPW) can confirm that refurbishment works are planned to a State owned building to accommodate a new Garda Station in Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo.

It was initially intended that another OPW Client would be co-located in the building with An Garda Siochána (AGS) and a Part IX planning application was being prepared on this basis.

However as the other OPW Client no longer has a requirement for the accommodation it is now intended that the entire building will be occupied by AGS.

AGS are reviewing their operational requirements in light of the availability of additional accommodation. Once agreement has been reached with AGS on the most efficient use of the building the submission of the Part IX Planning application can proceed and, subject to approval, the tender process will then commence.
