My Department does not currently screen Parliamentary Questions to determine whether generative AI was used in their preparation. PQs are submitted through the established Oireachtas procedures, and no information is provided to Departments regarding the drafting method used by Deputies or their offices.

The Department of Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation has not published a current estimate of the administrative cost of answering a Parliamentary Question. Resources and associated costs vary and are influenced by numerous factors including the complexity of the issue raised and the level of interdepartmental input required.
