My Department, through Enterprise Ireland, provides a range of supports to food, agri-tech and agri-business companies in Cork North West that have the potential to grow internationally. These supports include funding for research, development and innovation, capital investment, digitalisation, sustainability and productivity improvements, export market development, leadership and management development, and High Potential Start-Up (HPSU) investment supports. Enterprise Ireland also works closely with companies to enhance competitiveness, develop new products and services and expand into international markets.
The food and drink sector is a significant focus for Enterprise Ireland. Enterprise Ireland-supported food and drink companies invested €0.2 billion in research and development activities in 2024.
Enterprise Ireland also administers the Capital Investment Scheme for the Processing and Marketing of Agricultural Products. This scheme has supported 34 capital projects across the agri-food sector, leveraging more than €420 million in combined public and private investment to strengthen operational capability, support innovation and facilitate product and market diversification.
74 Cork based companies in the Food; Drink; Nutrition and ClimateTech Sector were approved funding by Enterprise Ireland since 2023.
