The Garda Commissioner is responsible for the management and administration of An Garda Síochána under Section 33 of the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024, which includes the issuing of Fixed Charge Notices.
An Garda Síochána is committed to protecting vulnerable roads users in line with the Road Safety Strategy 2021-2030. To that end, Gardaí have issued 1,688 Fixed Charge Notices between 1 January 2025 and 30 June 2026 in relation to cycling-related offences.
